What Flickr features are missing at Ipernity?

Ipernity looks a lot like how Flickr used to. So much so it is quite easy to think it is just like Flickr. But has anyone noticed useful features that we got used to on Flickr that we don't have here?
Scanning the replies quickly I think the main ones discovered so far are:
Ø No larger than 1024 pixel image version for lightbox/slideshow
Ø Search image descriptions
Ø Recent stats history
Ø Collections (being worked on)
Ø Filtering according to image rating (being worked on)
Ø Guest passes (planned)
Ø Sticky threads in Group discussions
Ø Ability to optionally show captions during slideshow
There are quite a few more that fall into the 'slightly different from Flickr' or 'a bit more fiddly than Flickr'. And of course there are some things that Ipernity does that Flickr doesn't (but that would be a different thread).
Ipernity Bug: further replies to this thread aren't being displayed - but they are recorded. This has been reported to Ipernity (general problem displaying long threads)
Update: bug fixed and it looks like ipernity are changing a few things as far as how replies are presented

But I'm sure they've got enough to cope with at the moment without being inundated with requests for new features. Just happy to have escaped from the madness and get settled here.
But I miss having view, fav and comment number under my picture's homepage. I also looove stats.

Does this apply to _any_ pics in comments? I use the comments to add photos that tell a story (e.g., this one) or show variations of a photo (e.g., this one).
I'd be VERY sorry to lose this possibility.
Bye,

Features that are not missing:
Friendly people, a welcome feeling, people who actually seem to care.
Also there are features here that were not on flickr. Some of them are pretty neat too. I like that you can make articles and documents and choose to have them in a 'timeline" on your page if you want. Note the keyword "choose"! At flickr people resorted to making a set with text or a really long post in a group if they wanted to make a tutorial or article.
I'm sure glad that ipernity is here.
Jen Pedler club has replied to Ned clubCan please one of the experienced users here answer these questions:
- If I write a comment to a photo of anybody and s/he answers, I cannot know it until check "my history" - is it right?
- And if I check and see something I want to answer, there is no "replay" option there - or I couldn't find it. Do I have to go to the site of this photo again only to say "yes" or "thank you" or something?
Thanks ahead
umit
ୱ Kiezkickerde ( ͡°… club has replied to gecetreniI also would love to have collections (but I know staff are working on those).
I would also like the ability to reply to more than one person at a time but it is a little thing in the scheme of things. All in all I am very pleased to be here. A very warm, intimate feeling.
The search box for everyone else's photos includes only the TITLES, not the keywords, and not even the descriptions. Hence, a search for Oxfordshire (where I live) brought me only two results, when there must undoubtedly be a lot more. I've contacted ipernity about this and they say they're looking into improving it. Perhaps a few more members could write in to remind them?
malona club has replied to Isisbridge clubIsisbridge club has replied to malona clubAnother thing I'd like is a slide show.
ୱ Kiezkickerde ( ͡°… club has replied to Isisbridge clubYes, Ipernity allready had it before the relaunch, the slideshow-"plugin" which was used for this nicely slideshows are still working: www.ipernity.com/doc/kiezkicker/album/63847/show/with/476659 - but now without any background-music-tune... (go at the top of the page and click "options" to see that it could play music if you select a musicfile after "/show/with" for the slideshow- the "476659" comes out of the url from www.ipernity.com/doc/kiezkicker/476659)
Badly after the Ipernity-Relaunch they now use another slideshow (called "Display on black background" or something like that) which wasn´t able to play music during the display...
The new Ipernity - design suxx in some way. Not as much as the flickr-one did but still many features which are allready implemented were just lost after tthe Ipernity-redesign...
Andrew Luyten club has replied to ୱ Kiezkickerde ( ͡°… clubThis was a really useful tool on Fluckr which helped communities to grow.

that should be what you are looking for...
Found a new site to put my pictures and happy with it.
Personally I think it's bad form to start a list with complaints,...'cause yhat is what it must look like to the longterm members and staff of Ipernity,.....about "missing features" on a site which has been very welcoming and forthcoming...
Time to move on!
David Robinson has replied to Mickey's ImageWorksBut it goes on with a critique.................
Really people............
A few days in the house that welcomed you and accomodated you ( and I think staff have been working their *sses off to do so) and already critiquing and wanting more......, different,....... change.......
REALLY???
I'm not surpirized some of the Ipernity-members are getting pretty annoyed by the X-Fers........
Stop this X-Flckr stuff,..... go mingle!
Just trying to do some damage control here, have you got any idea what these kind of threads are doing to the image of X-F-ers?
Have you spent any time on threads outside of the X-fckr realm?
If you did and are able to read German or French you'd know sentiments range from "laughing stock" (as in:who do they think they are?) to generally "pissed off".......
Just saying....
I'm sure you mean no harm, but it dóes harm us.
It goes to far to ask you to remove this message, I'm close to suggesting it though.....
Regards, M
Andrew Luyten club has replied to Mickey's ImageWorksIn the image captions I used HTML codes e.g. for the space character. This allows indentations in poems.
Have you spent any time on threads outside of the X-fckr realm?
------------
I'm puzzled.
I want to get away from this ex-flickr thing and looked for a place to meet other people but couldn't find a forum. So where on earth would I find these threads?
Another one:
Facility for admins to sticky thread in groups. I think others have already asked about this.
Andrew Luyten club has replied to Jen Pedler clubBrowsing other bits of the site I can see that the Iperneity team made a few changes to Group discussions in the recent Ipernity revamp that may still need some refinement. Unfortunately I guess none of us know how it used to be.
I'd noticed the non-working pagination as well - seems odd as you couldn't really miss it during testing?
malona club has replied to Andrew Luyten clubafter the redesing there was even a brief period when you could give only one answer to a comment using the 'reply' button. every next answer would go to the end of the list where it stood out of context... some of us started to prefix comments or answers with '@mydear' and 'quote' but it's cumbersome...
several 'old' members have already sent tickets or complained about the missing permalinks, but, and this is not a critique, the team seems to prioritize requests from new (paying) customers... and with the influx and great amount of uploads they're also kept busy...
so we sit and wait

I think Kiezkicker is referring to this
'I have been having this problem for a while now but it didn't matter because I would read them on the RSS feed and reply in the reply box. However, now that I know you can reply to a specific message it would be nice to be able to find that message.'
as an aswer to that i wrote a comment criticizing the missing permalinks after ip redesign.
that comment disappeared. together with other replies (to comments) other people made.
at first I thought my comment was deleted and asked if it was offensive, but it seems there's a problem when answering via the reply button...
201· · You may seek it with thimbles--and seek it with care;
202· · · · You may hunt it with forks and hope;
203· · You may threaten its life with a railway-share;
204· · · · You may charm it with smiles and soap--
I would like to replace "·" by " " without the " " being automatically replaced by a blank character. What do you think about that?
As for an answer: There is already an "unofficial" group for proposals in ipernity. Therefore www.ipernity.com/group/unofficialgroup/discuss/144245 is where I posted my question. In that group each proposal has its own thread. I think that group is a better place for proposals than this thread im "New Flickr Survivors".
However Ipernity does need a little tweaking which I imagine which come as the community grows. And some of the basic Flickr tools were really useful like having an easy accessible button for "Add to a group". I really miss that. Also having the total number of view & favs attributed to each photo.
I guess, the ipernity guys know what could be improved. But its not an easy job. For the time being Google helps (more or less). e.g. www.google.com/search?q=%22http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ipernity.com%2Fgroup%2F%22+The-Hunting-of-the-Snark
No high priority to me. I used collections with flickr; if I would need some in ipernity, I just would write an article with links. Thus, on could use articles to create something like galleries and collections. (The support to writing formatted articles is an ipernity feature that makes quite a difference.)
I'd love to see one place where we could go to see all of this, with tabs or filters for activity on my photos and replies to my comments.
That was something I used a lot over on flick ...

Otherwise, the only thing I miss so far is the fact that, if I'm right, the tag limit is set at 50. Over there I often went right up to the maximum 75 so it would be nice if ipernity could raise their limit.
Apart from that I love it here. Just need to get my photos moved across.
(hopefully you can see this reply either in an RSS feed, or the news of your discussions section. There is an ipernity bug so it isn't displayed on the group page)
As well as a comment I made about introducing Collections I said it would be nice if ipernity could raise the keyword limit to 75. Following that I saw Lea's comment saying "test".
Now I wasn't sure if she was testing the bug to see if her comment would display or suggesting I test the limit, but I decided it might be the latter and so I did just that.
Pleased to report that you can indeed add 75 tags per photo, though if you try to add any more the pop up says you can't add any more because the limit is 50, even though it is clearly now 75.
So, if that's an upgrade folks thank you very much ... just need the Collections now. Sorry, greedy Scotsman!
