We the Administrators/Moderators of the group would like to open a means of communication with all the members. The topic is what would you like it to be eg what you would like to see/ how the group is run or could be run/how can we improve/do you want to see changes for better or not ...open to you...

This is an open letter to us all, Your thoughts as a group. If some thing is raised here it will be taken to another Discussion group if we cant sort it out in a few comments here as another thread.

Remember you now have four people who volunteered to look after the group and learn for the groups benefit. we want all to do the best for the group to keep going forward.

Really sorry for the inconvenience, this is not automatic, we have to do it ourselves… we have a real life to cope with and sometimes we are late in opening or closing. Hope this will not discourage you, we try to do our best as administrators.

Subject: Artificial intelligence

Dear admins, I apologise for interfering with your administration of the HFF group, but I do it to prevent a culture war. And first of all: I am not an advocate of AI, only of tolerance.

Your decision not to allow AI-generated pictures in the HFF group can be seen either way. However, you would then also have to exclude composings, like this picture (with a fence) from William Sutherland:

The same applies to scanned paintings, graphics and other types of art. And there are may on ipernity: 193 ipernity groups dealing with art. Do you really want to ban all this kind of content?

Furthermore, it's rather difficult to clearly delineate AI. Take a look at the following photo:

H.F.F. - at Kerschbaumertörl (2,285 m) © Bergfex, 2020, not AI generated

I posted it in the HFF group in 2020. Therefore, you can be sure that it is without AI processing. However, if it was from 2023, you couldn't be sure it wasn't fake.

And what's about this?

Screenshot 2023-11-04 06.42.20 © Jowe_Fotokiwi, 2023, real photo, partially extended with AI

The photographer explains that the woman and the wagon wheel are real photography. Only the wooden construction on the left is AI generated. Is this still photography or already AI? Which leads you to a big problem: How can you detect AI if the author doesn't mention it?

Our community can be very lucky to have creative members like William Sutherland, Jowe_Fotokiwi or Wanderfotograf who are keen to experiment. The same applies to artists such as Erika Akire, vero, HelenaPF and others, who are members of ipernity since many, many years. Artists have always been and will always be keen to experiment.

Perhaps you will think more closely about the subject (?).
