If you have new images posted somewhere on the web, you can show them here in group discussions using html. While our upload option was down I started to use postimages.org to upload a photo. It is easy and free. I even chose the image size when uploading so it is really easy to add the photo there.

For help with the html you use to show it here on ipernity, see below (it's hard to show the code becaue the symbols used are "read" by the program and so do the action and don't show the words describing the symbol. I will try and upload a photo of an example code later.

Postimages.org was easy though I no longer use it to store photos to post on ipernity since our uploading was fixed a long time ago.

I will try here to show an example of how to insert a photo as a new discussion in that group:
1) Upload a photo to another website
2) Copy the url of that photo
3) Go to the group or photo where you want the photo
4) Start a new discussion or begin a comment
5) Insert html to include the photo (you have to replace some of my words with the symbols as follows:
less than = the symbol usually above the comma on a keyboard, it is like the ^ turned on its side
greater than = the symbol usually above the period on a keyboard, a ^ turned the other direction.

and replace my capitolized words with your own information:
=============================================================

LESS THANimg src="YOUR IMAGE URL HERE"GREATER THAN
==============================================================

If you want to change how big the image shows on the page, you can add hieght and width dimension by adding after the final quote for the url: height="IMAGE HEIGHT" width="IMAGE WIDTH" then the greater than symbol goes after that.

When using a photo from facebook I had to play around with the height and width a bit, but on postimages you can choose what size to upload, and that worked great for me here without having to add the height and width dimension to the html code.

I hope people thanked our president William Sutherland for creating a group specifically for new photos while we are having troubles. Find that group to post any type photo as a discussion here:

[NOTE - this group no longer exists as our upload issue was fixed a long time ago.]

Note - the group no longer exists because our uploading issues were solved a long time ago. How to post an external image in a discussion is still valid.
