It's my experience that human beings leave much more mess on beaches than animals..!!

I love this photo Isabel.........the dogs are only just on the right side of the sign and seem to be waiting to continue their walk. I'd like to think that the sign got ignored ;-))

At daybreak dogwalkers ignore the sign, later we let the beach to the invaders!
We cannot explain the dogs that in Summer they are no longer allowed to their usual walk on the beach...

That was it during covid but we went to the beach the same and it was gorgeous !

I suspected that would be the case Isabel.......good for you and the other dog walkers. I'm sure you're all doing the best you can for the dogs!

I am totally self taught and I take pics of things I see and like but occasionally I see things by other photographers and I think what can I do to make that different, to make it my version

Each one of us hs his way to look at things, therefore we should all have oour own way to take photos... try to put in photo our sight and feelings towards what we see.

Either the dogs can't read or they are very sad that their owners have abandoned them, even temporary. A wonderful capture with lots of irony.

My dogs and I was 2 meters away to take the pic, they were not worried. Sometimes I tie thhem to a pole to take a photo of anything, but always close to them. I love them too much to stress them in any way!

As to your not relating to any other photographer, the idea wasn't necessarily to mention someone you wanted be like, or even someone who photographs like you do, but just to get people thinking about who else's photography they like - a way of us getting to know a bit more (photographically) about each other. But it wasn't a requirement.

That said, I wonder what you think of the photographs by this Polish dog photographer, Alicja Zmyslowska. You can see their website here, and a wonderful image I think you might like seeing here: alicjazmyslowska.pl Their 'Craving miracles' portfolio here I find amazing and I think they relate to the type of dog photos you take on some level. I often see you photographing your dogs with plenty of surrounding landscape or cityscape, and aren't they doing that? I'm very curious to know what you think.

I didn’t know this dog photographer, photos are beautiful but lack spontaneity IMHO. Nevertheless its is another photographic level !
Today is International Dog Day, August 26 is International Dog Day because it marks the exact date that founder Colleen Paige's family adopted their first dog from a local animal shelter when she was 10 years old.
These two I adopted them from the shelter too, Ninfa was 8,5 years old and was 6 years in the shelter before I saw her and decided she will be the one, she is now almost 12yo.
Torak is now almost 16 yo, he was left to die in the wilderness an early summer day 2 years ago, he is cardiac, has mobility issues but is happy and well taken care of now.
When Jp, who is a vet, had the clinic we always had abandoned dogs with us, I would never buy a dog.

Yes, that photographer doesn't have the spontaneity of your photos, that's for sure.
Happy (belated) International Dog Day! Dogs have a better place in the world because of people such as yourself and Jp.

But they have a better graphic quality and perfect studied composition.
We do what we can for animals nobody wants or care. Yesterday I picked a big toad in the middle of the road and took it close to a small pond…

I concur, I also tend to go my own way, although there are many photographs from many photographers that I like and admire.

Mir geht es genauso wie Dir Isabel...ich bewundere wohl so manche Fotografie und ihren Schöpfer aber meist bewundere ich das Ergebnis...ich selbst möchte mir den Stress des Nachahmens nicht antun...so sind wir alle unsere eigenen Künstler...und nun los geht´s mit den beiden Strandläufern :)
