Starvation in Africa... but who cares?

Starvation in Africa... but who cares?

Hunger Africa:

Yemen: 17 million 53%

Angola: 11 million

Somalia: 5 million

Sudan: 17 million
522.000 children under 5 years ols dead of starvation since 2023

Tchad: 5 million

Burundi: 4 million

Madagascar: 4 million

Mali: 3 million

Etc….

NOT MEDIATIC ENOUGH, AS IF THOSE PEOPLE DIDN'T DESERVE WORLD'S ATTENTION... EVEN IF THEY OUTNUMBER DRASTICALLY UKRAINE AND GAZA IN NUMBER OF CASUALTIES...

Shouganai, , Eric Desjours, Justfolk and 23 other people have particularly liked this photo

The problem for those who could remedy the situation is choosing what to eat at a restaurant or choosing their next car, or their next yacht, or...
There are people who are very rich solely because there are people who are very poor. Between these two categories are you and me, who sympathise but can't do much about it.

Malheureusement les médias diffusent ce qui fait de l'audience, en ce moment c'est la guerre dans différents pays, et Trump :-((

The media are largely run by giant global corporations which have developed since the gutting of antitrust laws in the 1980s.. The media therefore don't cover starvation because dealing with it would raise the taxes of their giant corporate owners. Instead they agitate for tax cuts for their owners. Governments kowtow to these big contributors to political parties by reducing foreign aid and social programs to pay for tax cuts. It's not just Trump doing this. Look at Keir Starmer's "Labour" government, which has cut social programs, especially those protecting the elderly. And the corporations did all this out in the open, while their media distracted the public with sports, pop stars, and bad economics..

A timely reminder but I'm afraid it isn't going to get any better.
Interested parties will continue to whip up hate so people in the West will kick those below them, borders are going up again...

An amazing photo Isabel, but a very sad subject..!!

I completely agree with most of the comments that have already been made and personally I'm ashamed of our Labour Government for their part in this.

................but I also believe that the civil wars raging in some of the countries mentioned are one of the root causes of the problem.
