resawing is a slow exercise in patience

don't you just LOVE that colour!

The smell is heavenly - wish I could offer scratch and sniff

branches pruned from an ornamental chinese cherry tree offered the opportunity to turn a different wood.

basic turning done for another wine bottle topper.

The pear came through with wonderful colour variations and I deliberately left some of the bark.

a friend had espalier pears trained up the side of the garage... planted there *years* ealier.. and uncerimoniously ripped down by the roofers... sigh. I collected some of the best gnarly bits and turned some bottle toppers.

Top one is mine, turned in response to a "here's a blank - go try it" in the woodshop. bottom pair are ones he'd turned as samples.
