Snake Pass - the last bends before the top
The A57 Road goes over the Pennines between Manchester and Sheffield. This section is known as The Snake Pass. It is notorious for being (wisely) closed to traffic at the first sign of snow on the ground and for far too many motorcycle ‘accidents’.

Wrong road Andy, Cat and Fiddle is on the Axe Edge Road between Buxton and Macclesfield. you mentioning it made me look it up. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cat_and_Fiddle_Inn
Looks like somebody has great plans for it given a chance.

I love the light in this shot Colin........it's brought out some super detail in the landscape. I love the sinuous curve of the road too!
