Torside Clough

Torside Clough
The Pennine Way long distance footpath descends from Bleaklow above Torside Clough into the Longdendale valley in the Peak District National Park. I say descends because that’s what the vast majority of walkers do. Those who walk the whole distance almost all walk South to North.

Taken today with a Happy Fence Friday in mind. Sunny but very windy and all that long grass was blowing about

Rosalyn Hilborne, Percy Schramm, Jörg, buonacoppi and 13 other people have particularly liked this photo

YEARS AGO I MANAGED PIECES OF THE PENNINE WAY. I ALWAYS WANTED TO MANAGE THE WHOLE WALK. NOW THAT WONT EVER HAPPEN... BUT IT IS A PART OF THE COUNTRY C,LODE TO MY HEART . USED TO MAKE FRIDAY 3AM DASHES UO TO CASTLETON TO ESCAPE AND SPEND THE ENTIRE WEEKEND IN THE PEAKS

yes it’s a much loved area. I’m never quite sure I ever wanted to walk the whole thing and must say 9 out 10 people that I have met attempting to do so don’t look like they are enjoying it. Many never seem to look up from their boots and some don’t even have any interest in where they are just distance covered and distance still to go. The 1 in 10 are great to meet and talk to :-)
