HFF - Die Communs (2 PiPs)
Die Communs (siehe auch die nächsten zwei Bilder) waren die Wirtschaftsgebäude des Neuen Palais. Hier befanden sich die Küchen und andere Wirtschaftsräume. Sie dienten auch als Unterkunft für Gäste und Beamte des Königs und deren Dienerschaft. Hier sehen wir nur eines der beiden Gebäude, die durch eine Kollonade mit Siegestor miteinander verbunden sind.
Wilhelm II., der gegenüber im Neuen Palais residierte, ließ einen unterirdischen Tunnel bauen, weil er den Anblick der über den Exerzierplatz laufenden Dienerschaft nicht ertragen konnte und weil das Essen möglichst noch warm im Neuen Palais ankommen sollte.
