despite the winter ice road, there is still a ferry. They keep the water open there with some sort of whirly thing underwater. In the summer it is the only way to cross, and it takes half an hour, much longer than driving on the ice road

This church was built around 1171 AD. The beautiful wooden bell tower was built later. It is still used as the parish church.
