Ghost fungus glowing at night
Best viewed on black. I recently posted what I identified as a Ghost Fungus and commented that I hoped to find a closer example to photograph it glowing at night. I've now been fortunate to find these, one PiP showing a close-up and the other in daylight. As with auroras, the camera seems to pick out the colour more intensely than does the eye, though they are quite visible glowing in the night.

Fungus time
I found these fungi at the base of a large eucalypt tree in nearby parkland. The crown of the nearest one here would have been about 40 mm across. Sorry to say, I don't feel able to give an ID at this stage. Apparently Australia has over 11,800 species of identified fungi, with the suggestion the total number of species here is between 50,000 and 250,000! And I'm now about to head away for the weekend, enjoy yourselves everyone.
Small toadstool
I don't claim to know the species of this little fungus (about 25mm across the crown).
I'm about to head away for a few days. Back next week. Have a good weekend everyone, and I hope the extreme northern temperatures settle down soon..
