Buddhas at Wat Phu

Buddhas at Wat Phu
The four Buddhas in the temple at Wat Phu, through clouds of incense smoke. Somewhere I saw these described, rather unkindly, as more like aliens than the usual Buddhas: I guess I'd have to agree, though they attract the faithful regardless. In the Pips are other Buddhas, one located further down the path to the temple, the other outside in the top Sanctuary area. I may be wrong, but to me both the "outside" Buddhas looked to be much older in style than the others inside.

Nice presentation, George! I enjoy seeing Buddhas and these ones are super cool! Aliens indeed! :D I agree that the inside ones look younger than the outside ones. I like the crazy ornamentation and countless incense sticks everywhere...I'm surprised that I can actually see anything in there with all of the smoke that must have been choking you. I only see a light cloud in one corner behind Alien Man, though I gotta say, good on you to deal with so much incense! I can't handle it unless it's very little. Ugh! Thanks for sharing and for the kind remarks on my pictures! :)
