Team's favorite photos

Taken on World Photography Day. Al is preparing to set off from Quorn station on the Great Central Railway behind the controls of Stanier 8F 2-8-0 48305. This photo of a steam loco cab highlights many aspects on a personal level for me. I volunteer as a fireman at the heritage railway so it is the scene of many pleasurable hours spent on the footplate. Al began work on British Railways in the 1950s so he is a direct link back to the real days of steam & it's a privilege to work with him today. 48305 itself was withdrawn from service and sold for scrap in 1968 so the fact that the engine is still running 55 years later is witness to the many hours put into restoring it from scrapyard condition by many other enthusiasts. We are recreating scenes from the past for the benefit of those that can remember them as well as for the many more that don't.

Sehr Viele schreiben sich ihre schönen Gedanken abends in ein Tagebuch,ich versuche meine schönen Gedanken und Momente,die ich in der Natur entdecke in meine Aufnahmen rüberzubringen,die Natur und die Fotografie hat mich wieder viel mehr ins Gleichgewicht des Lebens gebracht,durch meine Krankheit habe ich durch diese Momente wieder gelernt,die kleinen Dinge und Momente wieder viel mehr zu schätzen und in der Natur holt man sich immer Kraft und Energie und bekommt auch jedesmal die schönsten Geschenke und Motive :)) Mein Foto soll dieses Gleichgewicht sehr gut ausdrücken,wie es gehen kann,wie dieser Falter im zarten Grase nicht abgeworfen wird,weil sie zusammen harmonieren,so entwickeln sich für mich immer die schönsten Momente,die ich dann gerne mit heim nehme :)) Pip: Bläuling im Gras A lot of people write their beautiful thoughts in a diary in the evening, I try to capture my beautiful thoughts and moments that I discover in nature in my photos, nature and photography have brought me back into balance in life much more, due to my illness Through these moments I learned again to appreciate the small things and moments much more and in nature you always get strength and energy and always get the most beautiful gifts and motifs :)) My photo should express this balance very well, how it can work, how this moth is not thrown off in the tender grass, because they harmonize together, that's how the most beautiful moments always develop for me, which I then like to take home with me :)) Pip: Blue in the grass Beaucoup de gens écrivent leurs belles pensées dans un journal le soir, j'essaie de capturer mes belles pensées et moments que je découvre dans la nature dans mes photos, la nature et la photographie m'ont beaucoup plus ramené à l'équilibre dans la vie, grâce à mon maladie À travers ces moments, j'ai appris à nouveau à apprécier beaucoup plus les petites choses et les moments et dans la nature, vous obtenez toujours de la force et de l'énergie et obtenez toujours les plus beaux cadeaux et motifs :)) Ma photo devrait très bien exprimer cet équilibre, comment cela peut fonctionner, comment ce papillon n'est pas jeté dans l'herbe tendre, car ils s'harmonisent ensemble, c'est ainsi que les plus beaux moments se développent toujours pour moi, que j'aime ensuite ramener à la maison avec moi :)) Pip : Bleu dans l'herbe

At 4000+ meters on the Shandur Pass in far North Pakistan . The shepherds were walking the yaks up to the high altitude summer pastures, where they spend 3 months of the short summer grazing. There is almost no vehicle traffic on this, which is the major highway across the pass linking two major regions of north Pakistan…Chitral and Gilgit Baltistan. It is a difficult and long road…mostly traversed on foot by locals with flocks in summer, and inaccessible in winter. One event in June which we missed by a couple of weeks, is the huge Shandur Polo Tournament, held at the highest point of the Pass. Polo teams from all the villages in Chitral and Gilgit assemble up there with huge crowds of supporters and VIPs helicopter in to watch. The polo, a game which originated in these high mountains, is a much more rough and tumble war game than the upper class descendant played on village greens in other lands. I have watched many an enjoyable polo game in these high mountains…usually given the ball to throw in to start the match, as a visitor!

Wie im Jahr 1978 fährt auch 2178 die Strassenbahn wieder oberirdisch. Die U-Bahn Tunnels wurden zu Luxuswohnungen gentrifiziert, denn die Aliens wollten es so. Diese Idee isch gar ned mal so guud, denn dadurch hat man beim Tramfahren durch die City die Möglichkeit, UFOs zu beobachten und zu fotografieren. Faszinierend! Im PiP eine Fotografie der Karlsruher Kaiserstrasse aus dem Jahr 1978. Wie man sieht, ist der Unterschied gar nicht mal so gross. Karlsruhe bleibt also seinem ursprünglichen Layout treu, das ja auch schon die Stadt Washington D.C. zu ihrem Downtown Design inspiriert hatte.

Heute waren wieder sehr viele Fallschirmspringer in der Luft, die Einflugschneise direkt über dem Hafen
