Gladiola

Gladiola
Macros -- something the little iPhone does rather well. I try not to do too many of these as it's a bit like shooting fish in a barrel, but occasionally, the temptation is too great.

Rafael, Gisela Plewe, , and 3 other people have particularly liked this photo

Great detail - and why not shoot the fish if it means a good photo?

I think you were shooting at a tadpole in a really big barrel, Sarah. This wasn't waiting to be taken. You have a perspective in the background, and good crisp detail up front that contrasts strikingly with the blurred background. To look at it another way, if the barrel was full of fish you shot the single one you wanted with a rifle rather than blazing away with a shotgun.

While the Swiss are known for squirming like a bundle of eels when presented with a compliment, yours is so elegantly put I would be a cad (can a woman be a cad?) to refuse it.
