1666 statue put up to claim that the great fire was brought about due to the general sin of gluttony.it was on a pub by smithfield which was a central clearing house for resurrection men, who stole corpses from city graveyards for dissection, and laid them out for sale to doctors from st. bart's hospital over the road.

the carved stone arms from the georgian rebuild of the southwark gatehouse of the original london bridge, these were carved in 1728, bought by the pub owner in 1760, the year of george 3's coronation and so brought up to date before being added to the front of his pub where they remain.
