northfleet quarries, kent

the town with its two splendid churches stands high above the surrounding quarries, which have eaten great holes everywhere that isn't buit upon. the high street is a norrow ribbon of land with a great chasm on each side, and the way to the church crosses one such hole via a long pedestrian bridge. spectacular and wierd.
