view from the train of the bridge built in 1883-7 to the design of william henry barlow, after the first 1871-7 bridge collapsed in the tay bridge disaster, made famous by poet william mcgonagall. trains crawl across the new 3.5 kilometre bridge one at a time, and you can see the stumps of the earlier bridge sticking out of the water.
