parish clerks' hall, london
st.cecilia in the clouds with angel musicians in this german glass of c.1650, in c17 window from the parish clerks hall , prob fitted c.1690. removed during the war, now in the museum of london. the company of parish clerks is a city company without livery, their clerical attire being deemed to predate and preclude it. there are about 150 churches within the area of their remit, many have been destroyed over the centuries but still have parish clerks and wards.
