Wales - Portmerion
Folder: UK and Ireland
A tourist village designed by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis along distinctly Mediterranean lines. It is quite surreal and was used as the setting for the cult 60's TV series 'The Prisoner'.
It also has beautiful gardens, some superb trees and a very good collection of Rhododendrons.

Portmerion
General view of 'The Village' - familiar to enthusiasts of 'The Prisoner'.

Bizarrely this house looks very grand but is very shallow with the grand fascade exaggerating it considerably!
Portmerion
The beach. Usually someone writes a few 'Prisoner' references in the sand. 'Number 6'?
Watch out for giant white bouncing balloons!!!!!
Portmerion
This is a concrete boat called the 'Amis Reunis' - which translates as 'Friends Reunited'. I'm not sure if the website got its idea for a name here?
