According to web search results, Step Rock Tidal Pool in St Andrews can’t be accessed as it is now part of the Aquarium. The pool opened in 1902 although a bathing shelter was around in the late 1800s. The pool measured 300ft long by 100ft wide and the depth from 2ft 4ins to 8ft. There was also a small paddling pool. The area has a long history of being used for swimming even before a pool was built. The first bathing shelter was erected in 1873 and by 1887 the Step Rock had its own lifeguard, William Malloch.
