So, you may not have a fancy macro lens and your camera just does not focus close enough. No worries! Take the shot close of the subject anyway, and reduce the colors (shades) to minimum!

But can you guess what this is?

UPDATE, Some clues collected together:

"It works when it plays, and plays when it works." And playing it makes the work much funnier.

It can be used as an accessory, like spectacles. It will short circuit if getting wet, unless you have a model used by swimmers. The item in the picture is sort of upside down.

Original blurry image looks like this:
Original turned

Now that should be easy enough to guess ;-)

Gisela Plewe, christel.k, Belleuse, Annemarie and 24 other people have particularly liked this photo

So, I'm not alone seeing things... =D

But what it really is? That remains as a mystery, until someone maybe guesses it ;-)

Haven't got a clue really. The 'upright' part looks as if could be the leg of a pair of glasses, but I don't know what the little 3 eyed face is about. ;-)

Splash some water on this and you will probably break it. At least you will cause a short circuit.
Sami Serola (inactiv… club has added
Although, there are versions made for underwater use ;-)
Amelia club has replied to Sami Serola (inactiv… club
So - could this be part of some swimming goggles? No - that wouldn't cause a short circuit.
Still confused.
Sami Serola (inactiv… club has replied to Amelia club
As you said, then it wouldn't short circuit. But what you possibly can and could like to use in the swimming pool?
Amelia club has replied to Sami Serola (inactiv… club
An underwater mobile phone with built in flash.

Come on, Sami, tell all. :-))))
Sami Serola (inactiv… club has replied to Amelia club

Could be a vacuum cleaner. They're also available as a version for underwater use.

In any case, the picture is fascinating and a funny guessing game! ;)
Sami Serola (inactiv… club has replied to * ઇઉ * club
It is not a vacuum cleaner. And it may help to guess what is this when you know this is also a contribution posted for challenge 'black and white macro'. So, the whole item is not very large ;-)
* ઇઉ * club has replied to Sami Serola (inactiv… club
Even from vacuum cleaners excellent and mysterious macros can be created, Sami, but the mystery is now solved. :) In any case, it's a great idea again - and again very creatively implemented.

Then congratulations are in order... Congratulations, Raingirl! =)

As you probably already found out, I have started to use 'Curves' tool for this:
www.ipernity.com/doc/serola/46356110

Just move the top right end of the curve (diagonal line when you start) and start moving it to left, and then move the bottom left end of the curve to the right. Somewhere in the middle you get almost vertical line and by adjusting its position you get either darker or lighter posterized image.
