Rocky Head (PiP)

Rocky Head (PiP)
In Death Valley near Shoshone.
The PiP shows it without the polarising filter, I'm not sure it was realy that red, even with the low evening light.

Erhard Bernstein, Peter Castell have particularly liked this photo

A wonderful image ( with the filter) what is the white it looks like cotton grass but what I have seen was on damp moorland in late spring

Long ago in the days of film, I had a polarising filter with my SLR, which did not fit my Fuji 3100. I finally decided to get one for it, to avoid the pale, washed out skies I was usually getting.

Well for sure it isn't damp moorland. Maybe an American visitor can provide the name.
