Milkweed

Milkweed
Said to be a favorite feeding place for monarch butterflies, but as yet the milkweed is attracting only fritillaries.

Paolo Tanino, Peggy C, Joel Dinda and 2 other people have particularly liked this photo

Interesting Rob. I have Mexican Purple Milkweed in my garden (Best described as a Wilderness). The flowers attract most of our native butterflies and also Humming bird hawk moths.

"Only Fritillaries"?

You sound like my across-the-street-neighbor when he walked over to see what I was taking photos of ... "we only have those large yellow ones" ... Told him to send them over .. love Eastern Tiger Swallowtail ..

You could send some down to NC .. Piedmont area .. I have False Sunnies/Cosmos and my neighbor has a Butterfly Bush !
