The Royal Oak ~ Okeford Fitzpaine
The Royal Oak pub is in the village of Okeford Fitzpaine in the county of Dorset. There is a blue plaque on the wall to mark the site where the concept of the steam fair first evolved. I have left a link for anyone interested. Sadly it has been cancelled this year because of spiralling costs, but there are plans to hold the world famous event in 2024.

Good day.
Yes it is a shame that rising costs have curtailed many events. Let's hope things settle down next year and they can all recover.
It is a pity people decide to bring their own drinks and often their own food to events. It's one of the joys of going to them, to sample the food and drinks :-(
Thank you very much for your good and interesting comments Gudrun.
Have nice Tuesday.
A wonderful picture and fantastic information in the link.
I have never been to the steam fair, but have met people who have.
It would be a great experience.
Best Wishes, and stay safe!!
Peter
