The old ticket office

The old ticket office
This was in the small museum at Corfe Castle Railway Station.

I bet these ticket offices were far more efficient and had a much much easier ticketing system than today's nonsence!

Oh how I reminisce for the times when you could just go to the station and buy a ticket that was always the same price! I hate having to go on the computer, often days ahead just to get a decent priced ticket....not that I use the trains much nowadays, only the steam ones.

Those were the times.... I used to travel around Britain a lot, both with Interrail and Britrail passes. I still often use the train in Germany (don't have a car) but it is a nuisance these days. Mind you, roads and traffic jams aren't any better;-)

They were indeed! Buying a ticket has become so complicated and expensive. London is 112 miles away from me but if I go there it is much cheaper to take the bus, which is a shame.

I felt it Tanja ;-) Wonderful to think that after all this time, his daughter is still our Queen :)

This is one thing I am very happy too Rosa...I can´t imagine a world without the queen and her husband!
