Burnham-on-Sea
Showing the Low Lighthouse which is still active and is a Grade II listed building. Also in the background is Steep Holm Island in the Bristol Channel.

Another place I don't know. But I should!
I had clients who lived in Burnham for a while and our first meeting was arranged over the phone and they suggested we meet for a working lunch at a pub in Burnham. They gave me the pub name and address and I arranged a day out of the office. I had never been to Burnham before and was looking forward to a day out as I had heard it was a very nice place..
I arrived and asked directions for the pub. Blank expressions. I tried to find a phone box that was working and did so but I didn't get a reply from my clients. I also couldn't find the name of the pub in the phone book (this was before the days GPS or mobile phones). Puzzled and frustrated, I tried my clients landline a few more times and had to give up and therefore had no option but to return to the office in Northwest London.
The only plus point was that I discovered that the town of Burnham-on-Crouch in Essex is very pleasant indeed!
