Cross-over crafts
|
|
|
|
In January I was banned out of Facebook and since, I have realized the lot of time I wasted there. Some was useful not wasted, but very quickly one crosses to the other.
I do a lot of different crafts I enjoy other than artistic, like preserving, cooking, loom-weaving, visible mending and now I learned coil basket weaving. It is wonderfully meditative and relaxing and has the advantage that I can listen to podcasts or documentaries, while weaving. Other advantages are, I reuse material (in the orange-black-one the coil is made with used surgical masks) and the baskets are functional of course.

Another trial in the intaglio learning curve. This time I used water soluble ink and moistened the paper with a wipe that I think has some alcohol that forced the ink to the paper because it came very neat compared to others. The matrix was on tetra-pack as well.
Loplop (matrix)

I always find the tinted matrix almost better than the prints. The matrix is on a tetra-pack.

Not so lucky today with the gravures. This was the best but still too faint. But, I learned a lot!
Ah, Loplop was Max Ernst's alter ego as bird. He appeared magically on one of my blob paintings and I tried to make the intaglio based on it.

I have a rolling press!

I recently got this rolling press, made by a group of printer artists. Learning process.
Matrix on tetrapack

I was eager to try this, engraving on a tetra-pack and printing. The matrix is beautiful by itself.
