"Wait...what's up with those rungs and chains? That doesn't look normal. And where's the trail...?"

(Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures over the threshold, showing the undercut 30ft dropoff. I couldn't tell it was "only" 30ft until I started down the rungs, and so couldn't casually make myself get close enough to hang a camera over the edge.)
