Created from circles which had 'color gradients' drawn across them. These were then 'posterised' reducing the number of shades and creating the sharp stripes. After a number of them had been spread all over the image and they had been flattened into one level, a vertical rectangular frame was moved across the image in stages, using the 'change hue' slider to make the colours change while retaining the basic pattern of overlapping striped circles.
