Hovercraft Museum Lee-on-the-Solent 27 5 2022

If one wants to sample the delights of a hovercraft trip, and I have yet to do so, there is the Southsea to Ryde ferry service a few miles to the east of the museum.

In my dim and distant memory I remember a hovercraft ride in Weston in the early 60's I would think, and your picture reminded me, so thank you

I think Weston may have a RNLI hovercraft now. I can't remember one giving rides in the early '60s, but the vast stretches of sand and mud at low tide make it a good place for them.

If memory serves me correctly it was quite big and went from Weston to somewhere on the welsh coast. I was only a kid but it stuck with me somehow
