Cuckmere Valley from near Exceat Bridge - northwards - 11.1.2016

Cuckmere Valley from near Exceat Bridge - northwards - 11.1.2016
The Cuckmere river is at the foreground. It then curves its way along the foot of the hills to the left of the picture. All the watery areas in the centre and right of this view are flooded water-meadows, grazed by cattle in the Summer and Autumn.

The Sun was obviously getting round the gap in the South Downs between Lewes and Berwick, as it was already too low to get down into the Cuckmere valley, to the east of Seaford. There have been some road closures beyond Alfriston and on the far side of the valley. I am not aware of any properties flooding this side of the A27, but the Cuckmere had flooded some communities to the north.
