Thanks, Roger. I had hoped for a bit more drama, but this worked out quite well.

An excellent shot to begin with, and the bars at top and bottom enhance it.

That comes from thinking 'greetings card'! The 'bars' are very simple - they are just black to white gradients reversed and merged and then their opacity reduced until they look silvery. They are just a backing layer with the image floated over the top.
