Classic Chalk upland scenery.

Upland or Downland? Yes it is very typical - the top of the Downs are often fairly bare and the villages and hamlets hide down in the 'bottoms'.

Plenty of good walking in that neck of the woods (or part of the Downs)

I am not a 'walker'. I walk places to take photos - in the main. I get too puffed to walk the Seven Sisters for example. I have done it once since we moved here in '09. But there are plenty of places to take photos within reasonable reach of public transport. This shot was taken within a couple of hundred yards of the A259 - aka the no.12 bus route.

Typically Sussex and a very nice image Phil., like the light and shade it adds a bit to the fields.

I agree about the light and shade. I went out specifically because there were lots of fluffy white clouds about. Sometimes it can be a bit frustrating waiting for the sun to fall on the key piece of the landscape, but the clouds were moving quite fast yesterday.
