A bike is probably a good way to get down to the beach at Cuckmere Haven, as the path turns from concrete to compacted chalk, with muddy puddles extending across the path three or four inches deep. Once at the beach I think the shingle would be too much of a challenge!

We did not know how delightful the Cuckmere valley was before we moved to Seaford after retiring.
Since then I have enjoyed many a stroll along the valley between Alfriston and the sea, as you can see if you look in my Celebrating Cuckmere album.
