Maize at Tidemills - Bishopstone - 10.11.2014

Maize at Tidemills - Bishopstone - 10.11.2014
I don't know why two large fields of sweet corn at Tidemills have been left to rot. Maybe the price wasn't right. Maybe they got sodden before they could be harvested. Perhaps they were diseased. I shall be interested to see how they are disposed of.

Of course we may never know, but it's a large area to clear and I go by there once a week at least, so there's a chance I'll see the going of it. I'll keep you posted!

In the space of 48 hours, between Thursday and Saturday, the two fields have been cleared. As we went past on Saturday there was a combine harvester parked in the corner of one field, but no sign of the crop itself. So where it went and to what end, we will never know, I guess.
