Bury St. Edmunds
A charming market town of medieval origin, with Georgian architecture but badly let down by traffic. The town centre sees a constant stream and there's cars parked everywhere. On top of that, the A45 trunk road passes close to the town and imposes a constant background drone.
War Memorial and Abbey Gate
The road is Angel Hill, although it's obviously more of a square, dominated by the old Abbey Gate
Pillar of Salt
This lighthouse shaped directions sign is commonly known as the "Pillar of Salt"
Inside the Rose And Crown
Another splendid old East Anglian pub interior - there's a warm welcome and the ale's spot on
Abbot in a can
In the Greene King Brewery Centre - an old party seven - what memories!
Old Boiler
Old industrial kit outside the Greene King Brewery Centre on Westgate Street
The Nutshell
Reputedly the smallest pub in Britain - you can comfortably squeeze in a dozen or so (and uncomfortably rather more)
