Either all your photographs are excellent or you possess remarkable restraint in posting only the best of your work. The shadow to the right makes a fine demarcation and the grid of the fenestration provides marvellous leading lines. The reflection of the trees is entrancing and with just two basic colours - yellow and blue - this is something of a triumph.

Would that all my photographs were excellent! I try only to post pictures that I would like to see and unfortunately that leaves the vast majority on the cutting room floor. No, not unfortunately: rather I prefer to see the rejects as stages on the way, part of the learning process towards what pleases or excites me.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful analysis of my pictures. It is so instructive to read this rather than just the usual words expressing simple praise which, although giving a boost to one's self-esteem, don't really help one to develop vision or technique.

I confess with this one it is the reflected bare trees which attract me as much as the diagonal of the words.
