Great white egret shot through the undergrowth, still quite a rare visitor to this part of England and larger than the much more common Grey heron.
Apparently the red ring on its leg means it may have originated in Hungary, but I need to get it confirmed

Yes indeed my friend tracked the bird through the red ring you can just see on its leg. One of two born 2 years ago in Somerset about 250 miles away , so its done some travelling in its life so far.
