Dieses klassizistische Gebäude wurde 1804 von dem dänischen Architekten Joseph Christian Lillie für den Kaufmann und Senator Hermann Haartmann errichtet.
Den Namen "Lindesche Villa" hat das Sommerhaus in der Ratzeburger Allee 16 von einem langjährigen Bewohner, dem Augenheilkundler Dr. Max Linde (1862-1940). Ihm kommt vor allem das Verdienst zu, früher als viele andere und zeitweilig auch entgegen dem allgemeinen Geschmack die Bedeutung des norwegischen Malers Edvard Munch (1863-1944) erkannt und gefördert zu haben. Munch war oft in der Villa Dr. Lindes zu Gast, wovon heute noch zahlreiche Portraits von Angehörigen der Familie Linde und grafische Ansichten des Hauses mit seinem großen Park zeugen.
