Hampshire County Fountain
Each town in the county has a stone with its name carved into it. I'd always heard that the stones for the four towns -- Enfield, Dana, Prescott and Greenwich -- that were flooded to make the Quabbin Reservoir were under the water line of the fountain. Apparently this is an urban legend. There's Enfield, above Southampton, between Amherst and Cummington. Northampton is the top stone, as it should be.
