Isis is known from stories as "one great of magic," which she uses to protect and heal. In these contexts, Isis is often represented as a scorpion and linked to other scorpion goddesses, such as Hedjedet, Wehat, and Selqet. The seated statuette represents an unusual hybrid deity. Posed like Isis with Horus the Child, the woman presents a cow-like face and has a scorpion’s tail emerging from the back of her head.
