Looking across Chichester Harbour from Chidham, West Sussex on a lovely sunny afternoon.
Better viewed large, I think.
Leigh Park Gardens......the Lake
Strangely enough the ruins (which date from the early 1800s) are what is left of a small gun battery set up for nine guns. Why anyone would need that in an ornamental lake is a mystery..!!
Boats on the Beach

Taken on the beach at Budleigh Salterton, Devon during my week away.
I haven't had time to catch up with anyone yet, but I'll rectify that over the next few days. Meanwhile, I hope everyone is having a good week.
Budleigh Salterton Beach

Another from my recent trip to Devon. Part of the town can be seen up on the cliffside.
There's a lot of driftwood on the beach due to recent bad weather and you can clearly see how much the sea bed has been churned up,.
Best viewed large. Thanks for looking.
I think I've commented on at least one of all your photos you posted while I was away. Apologies if I've missed any one. As I get time, I'll try and look at some of the older images in due course.
Fly-past
Low Tide

Taken at Langstone Harbour, Havant.
The wreck has probably been there for a century. Its history is unknown, but is it is likely to be the remains of a cargo vessel that would have transported milled goods from the Old Mill, which is just out of shot on the left.
Worthing, West Sussex
A view of Worthing Pier, West Sussex. Travelled there yesterday in the hope of getting some photos on the seafront while my wife wandered around the shops. When we left home it was bright and sunny, but on arrival.................the sun had disappeared and it stayed cloudy the rest of the day, but at least it stayed dry!
Shot in 16:9 format, so best viewed large. You may just be able to see the wind farm on the horizon.
Bluebell Woods (+ 2 PiPs)

A successful hunt for Bluebells yesterday morning. I didn't see anyone around and it was lovely and peaceful.
Two more shots in the PiPs if you are interested. Thanks for looking!

A view along Worthing Beach to the Lido, taken from Worthing Pier.
Shot in 16:9 format, so probably better viewed large.

A view from the seafront at Southsea, Hampshire.
Check out the PiP for a view of the Isle of Wight ferry on it's way back to Portsmouth Harbour.
Thanks for looking and have a great day :-)
Country Road
This is around a 10 minute drive from my house. Just on the right (out of shot) is a very small car park which I use when I visit our local bluebell woods. This is about as busy as it gets :-))
The Beacon
This folly, built in 1830 in the style of an Ionic temple, is located in the grounds of Leigh Park Gardens (also known at the Sir George Staunton Country Park), which is a five minute drive from my house and a lovely place for a walk. I've no idea why it is called the Beacon or indeed, what purpose it was built for.
Edit 29th May: www.stauntoncp.co.uk/en/page/5077 Many thanks to Mikus for finding this link for me.
It seems that it was called the Beacon because the owner of the park at the time used to fly a flag on the top of it when he was in residence :-))
Trees in a Field
I spotted these trees through a gap in a hedge whilst driving near Funtington in West Sussex and just had to stop, walk back and take some photos.......although I had to be quick as it was a narrow road with a lot of traffic.
The trees look as if they've taken a beating from the wind and they stand out nicely in the otherwise featureless field...!!
Better viewed large. Thanks for looking :-)
Woodlands Walk

Taken at Staunton Country Park, Hampshire (also known locally as Leigh Park Gardens), back in March of this year.
On the banks of the River Arun

Taken during a visit to the town of Arundel in West Sussex today. This view was a short walk from the city centre.
Beach Huts
I had a couple of hours walk along the beach at Hayling Island this morning while my wife was off having coffee with her friend. It was warm and breezy and very pleasant.
It's a bit early in the season for these beach huts to be used yet. There were quite a few people cleaning, painting and doing repairs though, for when summer eventually gets here.
This image is in 16/9 format, so probably best viewed large for detail.
Another image in the PiP, if you have time to look. Thank you.
