Beach Life
Taken for World Photography Day.
Southsea beach taken from the pier. It was much quieter there than I expected, given the sunshine and warmth.
I've not taken many landscape photos recently.........mainly because I'm unable to drive. I'm just beginning to realise that most of the places I used to go to take photos are not as easy to get to by public transport. It'll take a while to adapt.

Keith Burton club has replied to Christa1004 clubNot being able to drive any longer is a massive change if you have been used to doing everything by car. I hope you'll soon get settled into your new routines.
I have never had a car so this has influenced my choice of where to live- good public transport and essential services within easy distance were a main factor. No big weekly/ fortnightly shop but buying fresh things several times a week....
Keith Burton club has replied to Gudrun clubI see not being able to drive as a loss of our independence, especially now that my wife has mobility issues and has to use a walker to get around. It will be very limiting, but we're starting to find work-arounds and I'm sure we'll get used to it.
Interesting you mentioned shopping. We walked to our Tesco store today, which took around 30 mins. After shopping we had to order a taxi to get the shopping home, which took an hour to arrive..!!

Keith Burton club has replied to TOZ clubHave a good weekend.
Keith Burton club has replied to Eunice Perkins clubI shall definitely continue taking photos..!!
Have landscape photos been something you were drawn to since you first started taking photos?
It's hard to switch (it makes me think about when I switched from square format to 35mm - I didn't know what direction to take my photos anymore), but I'm sure you can handle it and also find ways to get to landscapes you enjoy.
Keith Burton club has replied to raingirl clubI like taking landscape photos, but in general I just photograph what I see when I'm out and about (and more recently indoors), so what you see from me is quite eclectic.
Apart from dabbling a bit with a 35mm camera and black and white film when I was younger, I didn't really start taking photography seriously until I left the Royal Navy in 1998. I realised that I didn't really have a hobby, so I bought a digital camera and that was it for me, I was hooked.
raingirl club has replied to Keith Burton clubSo sounds like you jumped over the film to digital transition and went straight to digital when you really got into it. Glad you found your "it" hobby!
Keith Burton club has replied to raingirl clubraingirl club has replied to Keith Burton clubKeith Burton club has replied to Boarischa Krautmo clubMit Bedauern lese ich, dass du nicht mehr Auto fahren kannst.
Keith Burton club has replied to trester88 clubBeing unable to drive is very frustrating, but it's mainly the loss of independence that affects us. I'm sure we'll get used to it though. I'm currently trying to decipher our local train and bus timetables :-))
