Sycamore Seeds

Sycamore Seeds
From the Sycamore tree in my back garden. Please try viewing large if you have time. Thank you.

Photographed indoors in natural light from the window. A piece of white card used as a background and a texture added during processing.

John Sheldon, Frans Schols, Narvik 08, Nouchetdu38 and 25 other people have particularly liked this photo

This is very beautifully done, textures and colours look ever so slightly autumnal.

Wow, this is like an illustration in an early gardening book Keith! Awesome an beautiful have been used, so I'll add spectacular to that!! I love the texture you have added. That's what makes it look like an old print.

Excellent work Keith. Sunday greetings.

Sycamore...wieder etwas gelernt :)

Wanted...dry or alive :)))
Schönen Sonntag Dir, Keith!

Very nice photo, Keith. Obviously, the English and Americans have entirely different definitions of sycamores. Ours have spherical fruits that break into hundreds of fluffy seeds that blow away in the wind. I would call the tree in this photo a maple, possibly a Norway maple. (Two nations separated by a common language.)

Keith Burton club has replied to Ronald Losure club
I never even considered that Ronald, but of course you're right. Our tree is technically a Sycamore Maple (but hardly anyone uses the Maple bit). (The scientific name is acer pseudoplatanus).

Glad you like the photo and thanks for the info.............and the reminder at not everyone calls everything the same :-))
