A Sign of the Times

A Sign of the Times
A "locked down" children's playground about a mile from my house, normally full of children laughing and playing............now locked and deserted :-(

John FitzGerald, Frans Schols, Jean Paul Capdeville, trester88 and 8 other people have particularly liked this photo

The shadow is gorgeous! It's such a pity but you want the infections down..
In Germany playgrounds have been reopened (with some restrictions) but cases already seem to be in the rise again because some people don't adhere to distancing rules.

Thanks Gudrun.

I understand why it has to be so, but I feel really sorry for the children..........who don't always understand. Reducing the restrictions, even slowly, is going to be very difficult.

Indeed, opening up again is much more difficult than closing down. Children are helpless victims of adult idiocy...

I can't argue with that!

Ooh, that looks fun! I think playgrounds will open soon here, as those in charge think we're getting "back to normal" - ha!

Same here Diane. The only use this is getting is from the teenagers who reportedly gather here at night to drink and smoke :-)

I can't argue with that Annemarie.............that's what drew me to photograph it!

Ja, ein trauriger Anblick. Aber wenigstens scheint die Sonne und wirft ein geometrisches Schattenmuster.

Thanks Wilhelm..............It would be good to see the children playing there again, but I don't think it will happen anytime soon.

Jean Paul

Glad you like the photo Jean Paul. Your right about the emptiness........... but anyway, I would never dream of taking a photo while the children were playing..............not least because some parents would consider it very suspicious :-(

Some of our lockdown restrictions have been eased as well, but it is a dangerous time and I agree that some people don't seem to understand or even care!

Take care and be safe!

Thanks for the link Keith, I hadn't realised there are quiet a few of these uploads many from across Europe, Probably because my own childhood in care wasn't so happy and eventful as it is today I find it very sad almost upsetting that small young children are being deprived of school (Companionship) then freedom outside and so difficult for them to understand why.

Anyway it's a fine shot Keith and as you say "A sign of the times".

Thanks for commenting Maurice........appreciated. It's very sad that so many children are being deprived of both their schooling and play areas, but it's very necessary to keep them all safe.
