This was taken the same day two minutes after this one: www.ipernity.com/doc/keithburton/49370356 just in a slightly differerent direction and with some blue sky showing through.

Please view large on black. Thank you.

This will be my last posting for about a week as we're off to Exmouth tomorrow to visit family. I hope you all enjoy the rest of the week :-)

John FitzGerald, Special K, Jörg, Petar Bojić and 15 other people have particularly liked this photo

Stupefying! Electrifying! Incredible! In a word, ZOWY! You are right, seeing this at full size against black is the only way to appreciate it! As well, your other picture was gorgeous too, thank you for the link!

Isn't it amazing how sunset/rises are all totally unique and a tireless enjoyment? Your lovely images bring to mind an artist who painted the sunsets after Krakatoa erupted back in 1883. I wanted to give you a link but first found this fascinating page, which I think you will enjoy as much as I did: How a 19th Century Volcano Changed the Color of Sunsets It features an artwork I have seen many times, called "The Scream" and until now, I had no idea it had to do with the sight of a volcanic sunset! Fascinating. The article also mentions the Krakatoa sunset paintings, which has a more direct link here: Google Search: William Ascroft Krakatoa Sunsets

I hope you have a lovely trip!!

It's just as beautiful as the last one Keith. Maybe even a little more so, with the extra blue in the sky and the lovely light.

I hope the weather remains good for your stay in Exmouth. I will look forward to the pictures when you get home.
