LOL the title! So true! And yet, we both know that gorgeous pictures like this one can be had if one just opens their eyes instead of walking past!

Lovely details! The remaining seed pod really makes this image shine, and of course you are very right...the colorful background make it perfect! Oh, the ever-so-delicious bokeh!! Excellent choice of square format too. In other words, you nailed it! :D

Even though dead, it rings a bell from my gardening days but, no, I can't put a name to it!

Luc has identified it as Acanthus Andy...........I;m pretty sure he's correct.

The background is very much alive, the brightly coloured bokeh sets off the dry seedheads to perfection! A perfect use of shallow DoF.
