Empty and dried up seed heads. No idea what plant I'm afraid, but I thought it looked good against the colourful background.

Edit: I'm now pretty sure the flower is an Acanthus. Thanks to Luc for the I.D.

Thanks Luc. I've looked at some images on Google and I'm pretty sure you're correct.

It does look great against the colourful background Keith. Beautifully focused as always and a very apt title ;-))

LOL the title! So true! And yet, we both know that gorgeous pictures like this one can be had if one just opens their eyes instead of walking past!

Lovely details! The remaining seed pod really makes this image shine, and of course you are very right...the colorful background make it perfect! Oh, the ever-so-delicious bokeh!! Excellent choice of square format too. In other words, you nailed it! :D

Thank you so much for the comments about my burned wood picture...in fact, I was so touched by what you wrote that I sent the comment to my husband to read. He was really moved by your warm words about my photography and thinks you are so nice...I've told him about you and shown your photography so he knows who you are now. He thinks you're right-fine! :) And an awesome photographer too...he's equally wowed by your talent. Anyway...thank you. Another Day-Making comment by Keith! :D *hugs*

Even though dead, it rings a bell from my gardening days but, no, I can't put a name to it!

Luc has identified it as Acanthus Andy...........I;m pretty sure he's correct.

The background is very much alive, the brightly coloured bokeh sets off the dry seedheads to perfection! A perfect use of shallow DoF.
