This is a wonderful group where you can share your favorite music combined with your photos. It's great fun and a good way to find new, undiscovered music as well.

This week in SSC:
"Create a photo that looks like it was shot 100 years ago."
The watch, coin and lamp in this photo are all very old. I used the "Pinhole" effect in Silver Efex Pro2 to help make my image look 100 years old.

July 1st was a gorgeous day.... and that's about the last one we've had here. Where is the sun?!
For Sight and Sound:
This is a perfect chance for me to post one of my all time favorite sad songs by Mr. Bill Withers from his album "Just As I Am" (1971)

In honor of Linda Ronstadt's birthday, July 15th ♥ ♥ ♥
I have loved her since I was a teenager and was lucky enough to see her live in 1976. I think she was one of the best female vocalists ever. She could take a song written by anyone else and make it all her own and she even made me like some Country Music. :)
Happy Birthday, Linda Ronstadt!
For Sight and Sound:
This song is one of my favorites from the first album of hers that I ever heard. It was written by Woody Guthrie, Huddie Ledbetter and Alan Lomax and features Bernie Leadon on guitar and vocals and Herb Peterson on banjo, fiddle and vocals.

This week in SSC:
"Something interesting from my street"
I live way out in the woods and the lane I live on is really just a long driveway that ends at my house (see PIP.)
I walked down it a couple of times but really couldn't find anything too interesting (and I didn't think I should post a photo of my neighbor's house. :)) So... I took a photo of a tadpole that is in our pond since the lane goes right by it. I thought he was pretty interesting. Check out his little tail!

For Sight and Sound:
I finally figured out how to do slow motion video on my G9 which is interesting because you have to use manual focus. I also finally learned how to add some music to it so here is my friend the little hummingbird. She visits the fuchsias almost every day.

This week in SSC:
"Take a photo of anything that flies or floats in the air."
Well, I got a lot of exercise this week. We always have jets going over from Sea-Tac International Airport in Seattle but we also live very near a private airpark. Planes take off or land from there but you never know when it will be. So each time I heard what I thought was a small plane I went running outside with my camera. I got several shots of different planes but this was the best one I got all week. I believe it's a replica of a World War 1 Army plane. I just love the bright colors. You can see some of the other planes (and helicopters) that I saw this week in the PIP.

This is the band "Riverside" here in Seattle. (Looks best small. :))
I went to my first concert in many years the other night to see my favorite band "Riverside" who are all the way from Poland. This is the best photo I could get of the band and it's a screenshot from a short video I took (unfortunately, I couldn't see the drummer from where I was.)
It sure taught me a lot about what you need to get good photos in low light without a tripod and my little Sony just wasn't up to it at all especially with people bouncing all around me :D I had a great time though and the band was fantastic!
