TSC - White Balance

Blue Petunias

These are my petunias. I thought they were pretty nice how they were, but by changing the white balance setting from "cloudy" to "incandescent" (tungsten) they change from purple to blue. Now I like them better this way.

You can see their real color in the note.

Lovely shades. I like them in both colors but it's really interesting how the grass turns a bluish too but if you didn't have it to compare with the original, it might look natural.

To photograph blue flowers is often a challenge indeed! Most often the auto white balance on camera gives something completely different than seen with the eyes. So, it is definitely a good idea to try some other white balance settings, or measure it from a white/gray card.
