The day brought all kinds of weather from sunshine through bands of light rain and drizzle. The sky was constantly and quickly changing, one minute it was overcast the next dramatic clouds or clear blue. It was hard to keep up with the ever changing light.
I Know Those Rabbits Are Out There

Monty met wild rabbits for the first time at Sandwood Loch, we don't have any in our are of Cornwall. We pitched our tent in the middle of the warren of all warrens, there was nowhere else, and Montrose thought all his birthdays had come at once. He hardly stopped for breath but he didn't manage to catch one. Although he reckons that next time.........

Caithness - Beautiful Wasteland

Now we turn East across the top of Scotland and start to make our way back towards Cornwall. There is a severe visual shock when, after a few miles from the Kyle of Tongue, the ever changing wild mountain scenery of the Northwest Highlands turns to the endless, flat wastelands of the cat people (Caithness). These are the lands of the Clearances and for me, despite the undoubted beauty, they hold an atmosphere of desolation and loneliness.
